Here are our picks for the best new products for families with kids under 5 to come onto the scene since our last edition…
1. Fisher-Price Jonathan Adler collection
Wow! Fisher-Price recently announced a new Creative Director, and we’re head over heels for the direction he’s taking with their baby line. The new Jonathan Adler premium collection features a fresh new take on such Fisher-Price classics as the Rock ‘N Play ($150), bouncer ($120), and activity gym ($120), incorporating modern design elements such as bold prints and pops of bright color. The collection will also include other items such as mobiles, layette pieces, and bedding.
2. Nuna Rava convertible car seat
Nuna’s highly anticipated luxury convertible car seat, the RAVA, is promising to be a very worthy successor to the fantastic NUNA infant car seat. It ain’t cheap ($450), but its impressive set of features includes a steel frame, side impact protection pods, no-rethread harness, extended rear-facing capability (50-pound weight limit), “Simply Secure” installation system (allowing super easy and secure installation via seatbelt), premium LATCH connectors, a retractable Calf Support Panel (allowing up to 2 inches of extra legroom for rear facing, and extra leg support for forward facing), five recline positions in each direction, flip-out cupholders, and machine washable fabric. It comes with a removable infant insert (for babies 5-11 pounds). If you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on a new convertible car seat, folks, this might just be the one.
We absolutely love this game-changing, multi-level bouncer from Skip Hop ($150)! It adjusts from floor level to table level, so your baby can take part in your entire family routine. It features a removable, washable seat with five-point harness, comes with a simple overhead hanging toy (which can be replaced with any hanging toy of your choice), and boasts vibration and sound features.
4. Madewell maternity jeans
No one here at TotScoop HQ is currently pregnant, but we almost wish we were, just so we could try the new line of maternity jeans from one of our favorite jeans makers, Madewell. Madewell’s new belly-friendly jeans are designed in a pull-on style with stretchy elastic side insets, and are available in their signature Skinny and Demi-Boot fits (both $138).
